Long-distance move from Tucson, AZ to Monticello, MN

Would never recommend to anyone.

This company is also known as 500 Move.
Do not use this company. In the beginning, I was in contact with a lady named Britney that was great; she was friendly, flexible, and gave off good vibes. She quoted me for my move and on the day the movers came, they told me they had to charge me more to appropriately wrap my belongings to prevent damage. The total came out to $788.64 more than the original quote. When I was ready for my belongings (I moved out of state), I called Britney and she told me she’d have to look into the schedule to see how soon my stuff could be transported; she said a lady named Maria would call me later on to discuss. I let her know I didn’t want to secure a storage unit until I knew when my stuff would arrive so I wasn’t paying for an empty storage unit. This was on a Wednesday. I did not hear back and assumed they were just busy. I called the following Monday and Britney said she didn’t have any updates for me but would have Maria call me back as soon as she got into the office. I did not receive any call backs. Tuesday came and a man called stating he was nearby with my stuff; since this was unexpected and no one communicated with me, we agreed he would deliver my belongings the following day so I had time to make arrangements. He texted me at 10pm that same night asking if I can meet him at the storage unit at 8am the following day; I agreed. I went to the storage facility at 750am and waited. He did not show. I texted him a little after 8am and he responded, stating they just woke up and he’d be there in an hour and a half. I was annoyed but there was nothing I could do. He still came late and the gentleman he was with made casual conversation with me; he said they met with his parents and had breakfast this morning. I was a bit offended as it sounded like they could have notified me ahead of time that they were going to be late so I didn’t waste my time going to the storage facility at 8am. They unloaded my stuff and to my disappointment, many of my brand new pieces of furniture were broken and damaged. Boxes that were marked “fragile” were squished and in poor condition. I was making notes of this and taking pictures and the man said to me, “They aren’t going to care about your damaged boxes.” After they unloaded my stuff, I called Britney, extremely upset, and she told me she’d have Maria call me back to file a claim. Still have not heard anything from them. Britney was great until the company had my possessions; she then had a very different attitude and always brushed me off, claiming this Maria person would call me, which never happened. Absolutely poor customer service and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Good Company, Great prices.

This company was suggested to me by a friend, and I would suggest it to anyone about as readily as they did me. I had a 3 bedroom house that I was moving out of, and about the same size that I was moving in to. I was in contact with Roxana and she gave me a great price, and it didn't change at any point. I still shopped around, but they were the best. With all the stresses of moving, I was very worried but everyone made me feel very safe and very well taken care of. Anyone who wants a great experience should go with USA Moving and Storage.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Texas

Late, Broken, and Missing.

This has been my only experience with a cross state moving company and I'd definitely try someone else next time.  The sales representative assured me that the estimated weight and inventory I had filled out online would be enough for their original estimate of $5600.  When the movers arrived, they were quick to inform me that they would have to re-estimate because they were only there to pick up what was on the inventory and my conversation with the sales representative was irrelevant to them.  So, now the price is $8000 with an estimated delivery up to 21 days out.  Luckily they didn't wait the full 21 days, but I did have to wait in TX for 8 days for our stuff to arrive.  When it did, there were several damaged items and a missing step ladder.  As we unboxed everything, we noticed that several things were melted.  Wherever they had stored our things for almost two weeks was not likely climate controlled.  For $8000, I expected much better service than this.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

USA Moving Problems.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! My son's posessions were packed up and loaded on a truck by 1st Choice Moving on 9/4/13 which is a company USA Moving either sub lets to or owns. I waited approximately 7 days before I checked with the USA Moving dispatcher only to be told my son's items were in storage with no delivery date or delivery address. I placed a phone call to the sales person who disagreed with the info provided by the dispatcher and was supposed to contact him. That of course never happened so I had to call the dispatcher back to fix the problem. At some point, my son's items were moved to AZ to wait for a truck to deliver them in. On 9/22, I received a phone call from a driver with a company called Superior Movers which is another company USA Moving sub let the job to. The driver told me he was in AZ and heading to FL with my son's possessions and would be at our FL house in 3-5 days. I continued to try to get updates from the dispatcher but never received clear answers as to where the truck was. The driver did not answer his cell phone and his voice mail box was full so I couldn't leave messages. On 10/7 the company was in contract violation as my son's items were still not delivered. Phone calls to dispatchers, managers, sales director provided no information and stories I was told changed (the truck was abandoned, a new driver is headed to Miami to pick it up, the truck broke down, the driver got sick, etc).I finally got one of the dispatchers to tell me the truck was in Ocala, FL in a trailer shop being repaired. I then took it upon myself to call the trailer shops in Ocala until I found the truck. GUESS WHAT?? The truck had been stopped in Dunnellon, FL for bad brakes and bald tires and towed to a DOT shop for repairs. It would then need to be inspected by FL DOT again after it was repaired before it could get back on the road. In the meantime, the company obtained another truck to move my son's items (and other families as well) to it so the items could be delivered. My son's items finally arrived on 10/9/13 in the evening. I have no idea how many times my son's items were moved from truck to truck. This is problematic as the more times boxes and furniture is moved, the more risk there is that something will get damaged or broken. I would never use this company again. Besides lousy customer service skills, the dispatchers were not truthful on where the truck was and what was happening. And the truck was defective which posed a safety issue.  .

Long-distance move from California to Florida

What a nightmare!!

I have moved across the U.S. several times in my 71 years of living and this was absolutely the WORST experience ever.  Heads up..on the website once you connect to the sales person, they are sweet as pie, and aftter..forget about it.  I was told by my sales person Tom, that I could use my credit card throught the entire transaction.  Wow, what a lie..lie number 1!  Oh, yeah you can for sure.  Then the moving guys show up on time and want only a money order, personal check or cash.  The  guy now in charge of our move, Ben, said this is how it's always done on his end.  He also gave the impression that he would be leaving California and passing through Texas where he has some famliy and might get a chance to see family there..hmmm. Anyway, to make a aweful long story  short, he didn't even drive our stuff there.  Two other guys show up a few days llate and some motel bills later and with wet damaged furniture and boxes. And, to top it off, they only accept cash or a postal money order..like I have 1,000. OO dollars just laying around.   My daughter thank god, helped them unload and untape most all the furniture.  They did put my bed together but that's about  it.   Enough said.  I will NEVER recommend anyone use this service unless you love stressful moving and your stuff being damaged and having to file a insurance claim and deal with dishonest people all around. And most of all the quote is based on the weight of your stuff..the price will always be higher.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Florida

Denver to florida.

This is the second time I have used them. Both times were excellent. The quoted price was to the penny (and very reasonable). Nothing was damaged. Delivery time was fast!! I would recommend them over any other mover I ever had. Everything was wrapped in heavy quilted blankets. They were very careful with all my furniture. When it was delivered it was put exactly where I asked the mover to place it. Again, they did an excellent job both in denver and in florida.

Long-distance move from Colorado to California

Used and Stolen Items.

I must start by saying the movers at the near and far ends were AWESOME!! They were all professional, courteous and kind.

They picked up my things in Denver in Dec 2013 to move into storage until Sept 2014, when I contacted them with my delivery address. The entire time my things were in storage, I had repeated experiences of Mara Reyes' incompetence. Just when I thought she couldn't be less competent, she would surprise me again with that [EDIT] monthly bill. EVERY SINGLE MONTH, she would send my bill around the 30th, due on the 1st, inclusive of a $10 late fee. I called and gently explained that it was impossible to incur a late fee since I hadn't been previously billed. EVERY SINGLE MONTH, she apologized and promised to fix it and that it wouldn't happen again. EVERY SINGLE MONTH, a late fee appeared on my bill. EVERY SINGLE MONTH I relived this same exercise with the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes.

That was my sampling of the frustration that was to accompany my final delivery. All this time I'm thinking my things are safe in their professional climate-controlled storage facility. When I called to schedule final delivery, I was blown-off, and experienced my first real twinge of anxiety - I seriously began to wonder if my things had been sold on ebay or craigslist months prior, as I continued to faithfully pay my monthly storage fee. After daily persistence spanning nearly 2 weeks, I finally got a delivery time-frame out of the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes. Actual delivery was a day later than what she told me, but I was overjoyed when I saw the truck pull up! Fully half of my joy was in believing that I'd never again have to deal with the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes.

I probably wouldn't be writing this review except for what I later discovered.. as I said at the start, the movers themselves were fantastic! And I'm grateful for being the Type A person I am. I made my own inventory list before loading the truck in Dec. Because of my list, I was able to quickly determine I was missing two very integral items: the LEGS and BASE to my pub table (the chairs and table top strangely made it), and a custom-cut glass shelf that goes to my antique vanity. So I have a table I can't use, and an antique with diminished value, thanks to the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes and her cronies. What's with hoarding the table legs - I read this also happened to another reviewer - seriously!!

I blasted an email to every person I'd ever spoken with or emailed there plus Customer Service, and was lucky enough to hear back from "Elena" who sounded sincerely empathetic. Although I believe she tried her best to locate my missing items, I'm certain now that I'll never see them again. But THAT'S not even the most disturbing part. Are you ready? Here it comes..

I KNOW for a FACT that some of my things were USED!! First, the obvious - my vacuum cleaner. The brush was LOADED with hair - and it wasn't mine! Being Type A, I would NEVER ship my vacuum cleaner in such condition. Further, the poor motor sounds like it's been beat to hell. Whoever used it must have been vacuuming an entire motel every day for the entire time it was in "storage"

Next is the stool that goes with my vanity.. the seat cushion was down to one little screw keeping it attached to the base. When the movers collected it in Dec, it was firmly intact. It has a cloth cover and I shudder to think of whose bare buns graced its surface for roughly 270 days. Needless to say I have a recovering project in progress..

Last thing: instead of cardboard boxes, I packed most of my things in large "rubbermaid" bins, and taped the lids down. The tape was broken on almost every one of those bins. Normally I would chalk that up to movers grabbing them where they're taped and it naturally breaking there. But given this experience, I am convinced that someone(s) [I know that's not really a work but you get the idea] anyway, someone(s) went looking through AT LEAST SOME of my bins to see what household additions they might find.

I have no idea what else was taken, and it sickens me to know there are people out there who think this is OK. I'm talking to you Maria Reyes.

But hey, I'm healthy, I'm happy, and I believe in karma :-)
 .

Long-distance move from Arizona to Colorado

Mismanaged, bad communication, lies.

Avoid at all costs. "locked in rate" was increased by 50% once they arrived to move. Then what was supposed to take 2-3 days took 8 days. Then on day 8 truck arrives at 11am with no helpers (only driver). Wouldn't refund, credit offered was $400 on a $6600 move to unload ourselves (51' truck), no assistance, everyone blames everyone else. Do anything except hire these people. They will do anything to get the sale then disappoint and dodge when any questions happen.

Long-distance move from Arizona to California

Good.

I had USA Moving move my things from Phoenix to San Jose. I chose this company because they did not try and strong arm me into signing a contract with them when we first spoke, even though my move was relatively small they still came out to my home and guaranteed my price, something the other movers did not offer. The price was also competitive. I wanted to receive my items in 1 or 2 days but had to wait 4 days until my delivery occurred, but I knew this in advance. Had a deep scratch on my dresser when delivered but other than that my overall experience was very good with USA Moving. Thanks guys.
